2 Preparation 1 (+/- 1) 2.0 Cow dung solution preparation:
Prepare a cow dung solution by mixing the fresh cow dung, cow urine and water. Take a mud pot or container having a 10 litre capacity. Add fresh cow dung and then add recommended quantity of cow urine to it. Gently mix them with stick, until it become a slurry. Then dilute the cow dung urine slurry with recommended quantity of water. Instead of Cow down one can use any of the following as well : Cow dung solution, Goat dung solution, Biofertilizer solution.

Seeds are soaked in water for 10 - 15 hours and floating seeds are considered as chaffy seeds so they are removed.

4 Preparation 2 (+/- 1) 1.0 Nursery bed formation:
Prepare a bed Length x Width x Height (30 M x 1.5 M x 15 CM). Spread the FYM on the raised beds and gently mix them in to the soil.

5 Preparation 2 (+/- 1) 2.0 Seed Treatment:
Seeds which are settled are found to be healthy and assures a good germination.These seeds are collected and soaked in the cow dung solution and then allowed for 5-6 hours in the solution and then collected from the solution and shade dry the seeds.

6 Sowing 2 (+/- 1) 3.0 Sowing:
Sowing seeds in nursery beds. 100 meter square nursery is required for transplanting 1 hectare of main field. Do not burry seeds deep into soil. Just disturb the soil with fingers and sow the seeds. Nursery beds should be wet, so that it can help the seeds to get germinated.

Nursery beds are regularly monitored for irrigation. Because moisture is essential for seed germination. Nursery beds should be mulched with coconut leaves. Nursey beds should not be left dried up. Watering should be done with Rosecan. Proper water management facilitates good germination and better nitrogen uptake.

If there is incidence of yellow stem borer,clipping the leaf tips of seedling before transplanting. Yellow stem borer lays eggs at the distal end of the leaves. By clipping of leaf tips yellow stem borer incidence can be restricted from nursery to main field.
