Select seeds free from Insects pests and diseases. Examine the seeds for presense of pests. Presense of beetles indicate seeds are of poor quality. Do not use such seeds. Also look for presence of white or green mould groth on the seeds. This indicates seeds are stored in a moist condition, which will affect their germination even if infected seeds are removed.

Normally the seeds are treated when you purchase from reputed agro centre/seed companies. If seeds are not treated treat the seeds by the following way. Selected seeds have to mix with Tricoderma viride, Pseudomonas fluorescens and again with Azospirillum. Trichoderma,Pseudomonas and Azospirillum are available in both solid & liquid form. Powder form will not stick to seeds. Use starch/10% maida as adhesive and dried in shade for 20 minutes. If you go for liquid formulations no need to use ahesive. Soak the seeds in liquid formulations in a container and wait till the seeds become uniformly wet.

The disease is transmitted by white fly. The characteristic symptoms of the disease - Initially infected leaves exhibit only yellow coloured veins but in the later stages, the entire leaf turns completely yellow. The fruits of the infected plants exhibit pale yellow colour, deformed, small and tough in texture. There is no remedy to manage the viral diseases.Removal and destruction of virus affected plants. White fly (Vector) control is the first step to control spreading of virus. Use the recommended chemical as per the given ratio to control white fly.
